호텔의 두개의 길이 만나는 코너에 있는데, 이 길들은 프라하의 주도로이자, 까렐4세가 신시가지를 만들던 1348년에 이미 프라하에 속하였던 곳입니다. 건축가의 계획하에 만들어진 여러 유럽도시 중 프라하는 거의 최초에 해당하기도 합니다.
호텔이 서있던 토지에 대한 첫 번째 언급은 1378년의 역사자료에서 찾아볼 수 있는데, 그 당시 이곳은 바츨라프 4세 시대때의 귀족의 저택이 있었습니다.
